Donate property, shares and valuables

Donating your shares to WRVS is one of the most tax-effective ways you can give, as you won't have to pay any capital gains tax on the shares you donate and you can claim income tax relief too.

Shares

How do I donate my shares?

You can donate share holdings of any value to help WRVS continue to make life better for even more older people.

Larger share holdings will be sold by WRVS stockbrokers.

Donations of smaller holdings of shares will be forwarded to ShareGift, an independent charity which specialises in accepting donations of shares (especially small holdings which would be uneconomic to sell).  ShareGift distributes the ultimate proceeds from the sale of these shares to a wide range of registered charities, including WRVS.

Please print out the shares donation form, fill it in and send it to us with the share certificate(s) that you want to donate to:

We will contact you to confirm how we will be processing your donation and what, if anything, else you need to do.

Donating valuables

We also appreciate the gift of any valuables such as jewellery, works of art or property which can be sold to support our life changing services. If you would like to donate any valuable items to WRVS, please get in touch by calling 0845 607 6524 or email fundraising@wrvs.org.uk
