Leave a gift in your Will

Leave a gift in your WillWRVS must prepare today for the challenges that await us tomorrow.

The number of people living in Britain aged 65 or over will rise by 2.3 million in the next 15 years. With more people living longer, alone and without family close by, WRVS volunteers provide a lifeline of support in the community.

Any gift will help us to fund our vital services – from meeting the costs of building lunch clubs and social centres to running training sessions for volunteers.

Without this funding it is more difficult to keep our commitments to older and vulnerable people in the years ahead.

Thanks to changes in the 2011 Budget, leaving just 10% or more of your estate to charities such as WRVS can also reduce by 10% the rate of Inheritance Tax that would have to be paid, so there’s an extra reason to consider this very special way of making a life changing difference in the lives of older people.

It has never been easier or more convenient to update or make a Will. The Goodwill Partnership can offer a free no obligation home visit from one of their professional Will counsellors and promise to keep the cost of drafting your Will at a low fixed amount.  You can find out more by visiting www.thegoodwillpartnership.co.uk

Or read our leaflets Make a gift to remember for more information about why it’s important to make a Will and what legacies to WRVS have achieved and My affairs in order to help you write a Will.

If you are thinking of changing your Will or have changed your Will to include a gift to WRVS and would like to tell us about it in confidence fill out our Gift in your Will form and return it to us.

If you would like further information about gifting in your Will, call 0845 607 6524.

Thank you to the friends, families and estates who have left us a gift this last year.

"The activities that we run at the centre enable visitors to stay fit and healthy, be more independent and learn new skills.

“People who use the centre say that without this place to come to they’d be completely lost and stuck at home. Some people come in feeling like the problems of the world are on their shoulders but feel better when they leave because they’ve shared them with friends and had fun.”

Lynn, who manages one of our community centres and describes the value of a legacy gift
