Voluntary work with WRVS

We help to change lives. You can too with one of the UK's largest volunteering organisations with nearly 53,000 volunteers.

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. You can make a difference to the lives of older people and help them to live independently and with dignity or to others caught up in emergencies and disasters.

A few hours of voluntary work a week is all it takes to make a real difference and you will be providing much-needed support and services to people who need them most. All on your doorstep.

If you want to make a contribution to your local community, WRVS can put you in touch with people who need and value your help.

Volunteers often get as much out of volunteering as the people they are helping. It’s a great way to meet new friends, have fun, share or develop your skills and expertise, build confidence and to make a difference.

Voluntary work with WRVS is ideal for students or graduates looking for gap year voluntary work, or for anyone looking for work experience whether short or long term.

Volunteering opportunities

WRVS can offer volunteering opportunities all across England, Scotland and Wales although what’s available will vary from area to area. We are always looking for people to help out in their local communities.

Take a look at just some of the opportunities we have in the following locations;
Birmingham, Bristol, Bromley, CardiffLiverpool, Manchester, NottinghamSheffield and Stoke on Trent. But it doesn’t stop there – we have lots more on offer!

If you can’t find the voluntary work opportunity you are looking for, call 0845 601 4670 or register online to volunteer.  Someone will contact you to discuss opportunities in your area.

If you are over the age of 14, whatever your interests, whatever your availability - we'll help to find a volunteering opportunity to suit you.
