Each of Lloydspharmacy's 14,000 employees are encouraged to consider pledging the 'odd' pennies from their salary to WRVS via their pay-roll giving scheme 'pennies from heaven'. Every donation made this way attracts the tax-efficient Gift Aid, which increases the amount WRVS receives. 

Employees were introduced to WRVS when we were chosen by the Lloydspharmacy Charitable Fund to be supported by in-store collections from 27 December 2005 to 24 January 2006. Details about our work was displayed on Lloydspharmacy Charitable Fund collection boxes which were situated on the counter in every one of its 1,400 stores.  

We are continuing to investigate future initiatives to work with Lloydspharmacy in areas of common ground, such as community delivery and support for older people's health and well-being. 

Justin Ash, managing director of Lloydspharmacy said: "There is a great deal of similarity between the way we try to improve our services to support our customers and the aims of WRVS.  I am sure that if we work together there are many ways in which we can improve the assistance we give particularly to frail and older people."
