Co-ordinators

Role purpose
To co-ordinate the work of emergency services teams within the designated area in accordance with the business development plans of WRVS.

Key objectives
  • Liaise with team leaders/WRVS local service managers.
  • Assist with the recruitment and induction of volunteers in accordance with WRVS procedures.
  • To be customers’ local contact.
  • Co-ordinate training sessions for volunteers and team leaders in conjunction with emergency services manager.
  • Liaise with representatives from other organisations where appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate local call outs.
  • Perform other such duties as are reasonably requested by management.
  • Some travel will be required within your locality.
Key skills required
You'll ideally be able to drive, have good organisational skills and some knowledge of emergency procedures. A ability to interact with both WRVS staff and volunteers and some knowledge of the voluntary sector is desirable.

Overview

Due to the nature of emergency work you will need a willingness to work outside of normal working hours, to maintain a flexible approach to hours, some unsociable hours may be required.
