Role purpose
To co-ordinate the work of emergency services teams within a designated area.
Key objectives
- Liaise with other team leaders and emergency services co-ordinators.
- Assist with the recruitment and induction of volunteers in accordance with WRVS procedures.
- To be volunteers’ local contact.
- Co-ordinate training sessions for volunteers in conjunction with emergency services manager.
- Liaise with representatives from other organisations where appropriate.
- Co-ordinate local call outs and events.
- Ability to travel throughout your locality and other locations, including occasional overnight stays.
Key skills required
- Ability to drive.
- Good organisation skills.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Ability to interact with volunteers and employees.
Overview
Due to the nature of emergency work you will need a willingness to work outside of normal working hours, and to maintain a flexible approach to hours. Some unsociable hours may be involved as well as occasional overnight stays. You will report to your emergency services manager.
Training requirements include: foundation training, registration and information module, basic food hygiene, refresher training every two years, health & safety, team leader training and diversity training. This will all be provided by WRVS and you will be reimbursed of out of pocket expenses.
