Break the age barrier of 'old age'!
“Even the most ordinary life is unique. To talk about and reflect upon one’s experiences can do nothing but good.” Alan Bennett, award winning writer and actor.
WRVS is challenging Britain to join forces to remove outdated stereotypes of old age.
Why?
A lot of people view older people as washed out, tired, grey haired has-beens. WRVS strongly disagrees.
Older people will only be able to live how they want if they are treated as individuals and not as just another OAP. We should all respect and value the experience and skills of older people especially in today’s society – before it’s lost forever.
Take action today
Ask older people about their amazing stories and share them in your community.
Why don’t you:
There are many ways you could make a huge difference to an older person's life today – how are you going to find that inspirational memory?
Tell us what you are doing
Share your special memory with others by:
- recording your story and uploading it on YouTube
- adding your written memory and name to our online make your mark wall to show that you support this campaign
- emailing wrvsmystory@wrvs.org.uk and sending us your photos and details of any events and projects you’ve set up in your local community to share your wonderful memories.
