Volunteering in Birmingham

Get involved image

WRVS is an age positive charity that offers practical services to older people to help them get more out of life.

Our 53,000 volunteers are at the heart of WRVS and come from all generations; our youngest volunteers are aged 14 and some of our oldest are in their 80s. Their community spirit and selflessness enables older people to continue to live their lives how they want to and to make a positive contribution to society.

Volunteers often get as much out of volunteering as the people they are helping. It’s a great way to meet new friends, have fun, share or develop your skills and expertise, build confidence and to make a difference.

Voluntary work with WRVS is ideal for students or graduates looking for summer work experience or gap year voluntary work, or for anyone looking for work experience in Birmingham and surrounding areas (we also need volunteers in Sutton Coldfield and Stourbridge) - just a few hours a week can make a real difference.
