Vitalise centres
receive
a huge amount of help from dedicated volunteers. Some volunteers work when they
can, for a week, or maybe two, but others keep coming back time and time again.
At
Waterside House, Netley, three of the most regular faces have become so well-known
that they have become unofficially known as the 'three amigos', and have been
adding to the value of the centre and to the guests' experience for many years.
Volunteers George Neal, Derek Brown and Mike Dunn are stalwarts who certainly
deserve our recognition for all their hard work.
George has helped with minor building work at the centre, has made a number
of excellent patio tables for the guests, and also produced the most amazing
flower displays at the front of the building and on the patio.
Derek has recently
completed over 6,000 hours of volunteering at the centre and is a regular helper
in the kitchen. He is dedicated to the service that Vitalise runs, and doesn't
even claim his fares to get to the centre!
Mike has worked in the gardens for many years and maintains them to a
high level in a quiet and unobtrusive way. |
